MEET THE TEAM

The Lab will have at its core a team of qualified designers and artists led and directed by Pier Paolo Peruccio scientific head of the Lob and director of SYDERE, and Gail Cochrane, for visual art, coordinator and former visual arts supervisor of the Master in Design for Arts.

Director

Architect and PhD in the History of Architecture and Urbanism, Full Professor of Design. He is a member of the Board of Directors of the international organization World Design Organization [ICSID/WDO] and of the Aurelio Peccei Foundation. He is a member of the Scientific Committee of the PLART Foundation and of the Inspiration Board of the Sustainability and Circular Economy Laboratory at the University of Gastronomic Sciences in Pollenzo. He conducts research in the field of design history, environmental sustainability, and corporate culture.

Sydere_ARTS Coordinator

Known for her experience in national and international residency programs in which she promoted innovative training programs and the mobility of emerging artists, having directed the Fondazione Spinola Banna per l’Arte, Poirino from 2004 to 2015. A pioneer and innovator in the field of art at the service of business companies. She created the first corporale collection in Italy for the Teseco Group, Pisa and an ambitious public art project for a technology company, Tiscali, calling various artists to intervene in the spaces of the new buildings in Sa Illetta, Cagliari as: Alberto Garutti, Olafur Eliasson, Maria Lai, Michelangelo Pistoletto and Grazia Toderi.

Gianluca Grigatti

Sydere_HERITAGE Coordinator

Gianluca Grigatti, PhD, is an archaeologist and design historian, fundraiser. Adjunct Professor of History of Design at Politecnico di Torino, with the placement the Collezione del Compasso d’Oro among the Cultural Heritage protected by the Italian Ministery of Cultural Heritage, he has focused his research on the design and fundraising oriented strategies for the enhancement of Cultural Heritage. Since 2014 he has been engaged in Fundraising, R&D for monumental complex of Lanterna di Genova, and since 2020 he has been Vice President of the Cultural Association “il Mondo dei Fari”.

Visual Artist

He currently lives and works in Milan. After his studies in Modem History and Contemporary History, he specialized in Visual Arts and Curatorial Studiesat the NABA Nuova Accademia di Belle Arti in Milan, where he currently teaches the course in Public Art. His research reflects on the nature of systems of power and the mechanisms of removal of productive systems. Through operations of analytical voyeurism, he highlights the contradictory and schizophrenic sides of a post-ideological present.

miriam casullo

Systemic Designer

Miriam Casullo is a designer with a degree in Design, Communication Visual and Ecodesign (now Systemic Design) at the Polytechnic University of Turin. She specializes in the field of art through the Master’s degree Level II in Design for Arts, thus approaching the world of design for the enhancement of visual arts and beyond. Currently freelance, he works through a design method of a systemic matrix, putting it side by side with the socio-cultura! and arts learned during her educational and work experiences.

veronica loche

Systemic Designer

A graduate in Design, Visual Communication and Systemic Design at the Polytechnic University of Turin, currently collaborates with international companies operating in the world of communication and marketing. Through Agile methodology, she manages projects that range from the conceptualization of artworks in blockchain, to the world of ltalian art-house cinema, to the co-design of social media strategy, to writing business plans for startups innovations, to the social sphere.

giulia formato

Giulia Formato is a PhD student, currently enrolled in the Architectural and Landscape Heritage course at Politecnico di Torino, where she graduated with a Master of Science in Architecture for Heritage with a thesis on the protection and enhancement of the hydroelectric heritage. She now collaborates with SYDERE, after partecipating in the G.Y.M. – Growing Youthful Material residencies in Ivrea, during July 2022, and Saluzzo, during September of the same year.
